Angela & Wing’s San Francisco Bay Area Wedding

I am starting this post with a pair of shoes. Not just any shoes, but Angela’s gorgeous wedding day shoes. If you remember Angela and Wing’s San Francisco engagement session you’ll definitely recall that they were two of the most stylish people who have graced this blog. They did, after all, start the journey of their relationship when they met while both working at a Banana Republic many years ago.  And Angela and Wing’s amazing wedding at Shelldance Orchid Gardens in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco, did not disappoint. Besides the perfect location, a million incredible details, and a beautiful couple, I also had the pleasure of working with these two newlyweds who are generous, kind, and utterly welcoming. It also doesn’t hurt that Angela has the best shoe collection I’ve ever seen.

Angela and Wing opted to do a first look, which I always think is a great idea. It gives the couple the opportunity to have a private moment before the ceremony and allows them to relax and enjoy their reception. We found the perfect field at the bottom of Shelldance’s property to do Angela and Wing’s first look. I’m in love with Angela’s dress; just look at that train!

The photo below on the right is seriously one of my favorite images ever.

This one is a close second; Wing looks so debonair.

On the way back up to the orchid gardens, we stopped off at this greenhouse building, which had so much character. I love how Angela and Wing were so open to every photographic opportunity.

The orchid garden greenhouse at Shelldance had the perfect light for the perfect couple.

Shelldance’s ceremony space is seriously dreamy. It’s inside one of the greenhouses, which makes for beautiful beautiful soft, filtered light. The ceremony and reception were both made even more gorgeous by Angela’s Aunt Sandra who came from Hong Kong to do all of the wedding florals and help with the other pieces of the DIY decor. There were endless creative and unique touches.

Angela and Wing wrote their own vows. which were incredibly emotional and sweet. One of my favorite parts was Angela telling Wing how she loved him being a caretaker of her, both of their families, and basically everyone in their lives.

We squeezed in a few more portraits after the ceremony inside amongst the great textural plants of the ceremony greenhouse.

The reception was busting at the seams with so.many.good.details. My assistant photographer Amy remarked how it was like walking into the home section of an Athropologie store. From the seating chart hand-written on the glass panes of an antique door to the moss and lady-bug filled terrariums and wood farm-style tables, everything was picture-perfect.

Angela and Wing also have some picture-perfect little nieces; these were a couple of the little beauties who were part of their flower girl party.

I had to get a few sunset photos of Angela and Wing, especially since Angela changed into this fabulous dress and heels.

Angela and Wing, thank you so much giving me the opportunity to photograph such a fabulous wedding as yours. Everything was more beautiful than words can express. You two are such a perfect match; may each day of your lives together be as picture-perfect as your wedding day was!
