The lyrics “home is where I want to be” played through the DJ speakers as they made their entrance into their wedding reception. A perfect representation of their relationship, because home for Annelise and Sean is each other. Their wedding was a celebration that solidified that place in each other’s lives, but it had been the truth for a long time.
They first connected over a shared dance at a party, which probably sealed their fate. As a natural performer, Annelise’s great passion in life has always been dance, and with a few collective shimmies and shakes, she was captivated by Sean, and he by her. Another connection shortly thereafter “and that was it” as Annelise put it; the doors to each other’s hearts were permanently open and they started moving their metaphorical furniture in. They raised dog children together, traveled the world, bought a house and made a home, became part of each other’s families. They cheered each other on in their individual pursuits and developed new passions together, offering lovingly encouraging and acting as the sunshine that spurs on new life. Each day a brightness and light grew between them, connecting them even more deeply.
On their wedding day they radiated.
Filled with excited nervousness, they were married by their friend Summer, who brought them together at that fateful party years ago. With an abundance of style and grace, Sean sang his vows to his bride. They both said I do with a light in their eyes. And later, they danced. With a few shimmies and shakes (not to mention several awesome dips), Annelise and Sean were home.
Thank you so much Annelise & Sean for allowing me to capture your gorgeous wedding and your captivating love story. I am honored to be able to now call you friends. Also a huge thanks to both Annelise’s parents who were beyond hospitable and have such a sweet and nurturing love for their beautiful daughter and son-in-law. Finally, thank you to Annelise and Sean’s amazing wedding planner, Nicole George, who seamlessly worked behind the scenes to make magic happen on their wedding day.
